The music here is pulsating, aggressive, thematic, eerie, funky, dark but entertaining not a boring track. It is a very unique and original record for those who appreciate John Carpenter (my bf) I bought this as a gift for him & although I didn't receive it on time ( it came on expected time delivered there was just an issue with my local post office) He was very kind and helpful; I thought his boxing method was really unique too! As the MIDI standard had yet to be invented, Howarth manually synchronized the equipment to picture while listening to a copy of the film's dialogue. Two decades later, when the soundtrack was reissued on an expanded CD, the synth sound was no longer futuristic but very much of its early-'80s time. The dark and pulsing synth score is imaginative and atmospheric and is perfect for a dark gritty action movie set in a dystopian future.
