Really high quality examples with just the right amount of analysis, and excellent scope. The strength of this book lies in the sheer weight of its examples and puzzles which illustrate each theme and sub-theme of chess strategy (there are at least 30 sub-themes, each with numerous examples and puzzles to solve ). 22 Chapters The writing is clear and concise, the layout and design of the book is good, the chapters are short and to the point. One of my top ten favourite chess books. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.

With that said, you can win a ton of games with these ideas and players over the last 100 have done just that.
The book is designed to enhance the readers understanding of how to recognize the most important features of a position and to develop a plan accordingly.

So when you publish a chess book full of examples and positions with diagrams, indicate whose move it is.
This is a great book! We cannot recommend Grooten’s gem of a book enough. Excellent book. Each chapter concentrates on a single positional theme, followed by a set of test positions. My suggestion is buy it, enjoy learning from it, and keep it handy for future reference. All of the books that the man has authored have received critical acclaim and for that reason, today we’re going to go ahead with our Chess Strategy for Club Players book review. Might be books out there that goes deeper, but this will certainly do for most untitled players out there.

Excellent book. The author writes clearly and presents the material in a thorough and systematic way. Highly recommend for intermediate chess players looking to strengthen their game. He teaches you how to spot opportunities, exploit weaknesses, bring your forces to the frontline and strike at the right moment. First of all, the material in this book is not very well organized.

Hellsten does not write with the clarity and completeness of authors such as Marin, Aagaard, Dvoretsky, and Nunn. The explanations are well supported by enormous number of diagrams. To see what your friends thought of this book.

The examples and ideas given are fine enough, but you can’t try to figure out the position for yourself because there is no indication of who is on the move until you look at the analysis and find the answer.
