This section is great for any paddling skill level and families, it has some quick sections with one class one rapid called the “Big Bloop” which you can go through or around. It is very picturesque with steep hills that are heavily forested. There are many spots to stop and enjoy the quiet tranquility of the great outdoors. The popular Sarah’s Island is a great place to stop and picnic or just enjoy the day. There is a short portage around Wilkes Dam with excellent fishing below the dam.
This route passes by D`Aubigny Creek and through to downtown Brantford. There is some quick water below the bridges just before the take-out.
