Grand River Moonlight Paddle... Or Starlight
|CLICK TO BOOK NOW!|
Paddling the Grand River at night is one of those "one of a kind" experiences... just so different
Night paddles are available 7 days a week from May until October meeting at 7:30pm and ending around 11:00pm... you can choose any night to go down the Grand River.
All trips are guided... so you can relax and take in your surroundings.
Our night paddles are on the Cayuga Run starting in Paris and ending at the Brant Conservation Area.
The biggest surprise for people is the lack of biting insects out on the river... and the next best surprise in June & July is all the fire flies on the river... like Christmas on the Grand.
At night deer, beaver, owls and fish jumping are common... plus the large Blue Heron birds fishing and flying in the dark.
We shuttle you from the Brant Conservation Area up to Paris then you and your guide paddle back to your vehicle/campsite.
Base Cost for night rafting is $305.00 per raft plus $7.50 per person (up to 8 people per raft)... includes paddles, life jackets, dry bags, return shuttle ride.
For canoe, kayak, yak and tandem kayak night trip prices click the book now button above. We don't recommend canoes because they are more likely to tip... and you want to stay dry on a night paddle!
Full Moon Paddles 2017... June 9 & 10, July 7 &8, August 4 & 5, September 8 & 9 and October 6 and 7.
Evening and Starlight Paddles... are available 7 days a week at 7:30pm (custom times available) from May until October.
Rafting the Grand River is great way to experience the river together. In our area the river averages 1 meter in depth with a 2 km/hr current speed... so if you tip over, stand up! The wilderness landscape is filled with all types of birds... people find it hard to believe they are one hour from Toronto.
You need to make reservations by email or phone in advance... because we meet you where your trip starts.
It is important to recognize that the weather-news channels are about 20% accurate in their daily forecasting... we are around 85% accurate!
If the weather is bad, we will contact you telling you to save your money and not come. With our cancelation you can get a full refund or pick another date... whatever is best for you.
Also if water levels are what we consider unsafe to paddle... we will cancel our trips with the option to raft or go in a non-tip yak... your safety with us is more important than your money!
We are the only incorporated outfitter business on the river carrying full liability as required by the Grand River Conservation Authority.
